A new logo can be difficult to hit, you as a customer need to know what you have in mind and what kind of image you want to give potential customers. You wouldn’t walk into hair salons and say, “I don’t know … make it look good” without even giving preference to a type of style that you like, short, long, wavy, etc. The principle applies when a logo is needed. This could be something small as the color scheme you want to use, as well as outlining your own idea and give it to the designer. I’ve had clients sketch out a whole page of ideas and select three they wanted me to design along with the colors, and I’ve also had clients just say, “I want it to be red and blue.”
So what makes the Good Logo?
To begin with, I am going to divide it into 3 factors:
- Simple
- Effective
- Appropriate
Obviously, it can be divided into more factors, but I will focus on these main factors.
Simple Design
I’m going to start with simplicity for the logo, as it really is the deciding point when choosing a logo. Busy logos are those that have one “concept” a good designer will focus on a concept that represents your company, keeping things simple. It doesn’t mean that you need to choose a concept that you specialize in; for example, a store DIY does not need to have a tool in the logo like a car store has to a car in the logo.
An example of this is the “Swoosh” from the sportswear brand Nike. The Nike logo is a very simple but effective logo. Even without the branding, the “Swoosh” is only recognizable and memorable around the world.
The main thing that Nike represents is the Tick design, also known as the “Swoosh” design. The Swoosh represents the wing of the famous statue of the Greek goddess of victory, although few people know it. We all recognize design as a symbol of speed, and because Nike is known worldwide for offering athletic footwear, it represents the company well. The swoosh is known worldwide, as the company continues to strive and grow, it is the perfect example of a simple but very successful logo.
Effective
This is a fact, and I won’t need to explain it much. A good logo should be effective/unique in the sense that it should sink your teeth into your brain.
Unless you have invented a new spacecraft that will take people to the moon for £20 per person, then you will have competition in whatever business or industry you are involved in. You will need a logo that is not simply only but effective and makes people remember you when you are not looking at their faces. I chose the LG logo for this example.
Personally, I love the LG logo; it is a logo that stays in your head and is memorable wherever you go. It is simple but very effective, which are the factors that make a good logo. The designer incorporated the L and G into one face representing the company name “Life’s good.”
Logos are not only used on the web; a logo will be used anywhere to represent that company. There are many factors that come when deciding on an effective logo; you need to think, “Will it look good in print?” then there is “What if I want it to print in black and white?” Oh, and also, “Will my logo look well enlarged for a poster?” Be sure to consider all possible factors and criteria when choosing a logo for your business.
Appropriate
Last, but certainly not least, it’s appropriate. Each logo must be appropriate for the type of business it represents. An accountant will not want a baby to be incorporated into the logo. Likewise, an online baby store will not want a pen or calculator to be incorporated into their logo. However, this is common sense. A good logo should have the right font, colors, and concept, all while keeping things simple.
A logo must adapt to the business it represents; Disney achieves this with a milestone. My first opinion of the logo when you look at it is how childish it all is. The inaccurate lines, the scrawled “dot,” and the solid color. It is perfect for a children’s entertainment company. It wouldn’t really work to have cooperative colors and a Times New Roman font now, would it? However, it fits perfectly for children.
Any logo must represent the company adequately; this is one of the most important factors that you must decide when choosing a logo for your company.
I tried to get away from this, but without a doubt, the logo that achieves all these factors is the Apple logo. I know … I know I tried to avoid mentioning it, but it’s a perfect example of a good logo. It’s simple, effective, and highly approved.
The important marketing tool is a logo. Your logo should be eye-catching; first impressions are essential. An attractive and professional logo will help build trust in a company and a brand.
What makes a good logo? What is the purpose of the logo? In what media will this logo be published?
Product transportation
It is recommended that the logo include the meaning of the product. A potential customer searching for a property and browsing the web or a catalog will make an instant association with your logo. From a business and marketing perspective, we cannot recommend using this technique highly enough.
Beautiful logo design
Due to the high contrast and high impact nature of logo design, it is essential that they be beautiful. The goal of a good logo design is to surprise your customers. A logo is for life.
A logo is an important aspect of branding a company and a product. The association between product and logo is follow-through. Hence the reason why “a logo is for life.” A good logo must meet three essential requirements: it must be appropriate, pleasing to the eye, and it must reflect the credibility of the company.
